Site Visit
___ Blood pressure cuff
___ Stethoscope
___ Oto-ophthalmoscope (this can be shared with a
partner)
___ Canteen
___ Camera
___ Small Flashlight
___ Personal Medications (must be well marked)
___ Passport, airline tickets, money (always on
your person – a waist pack is a good means of carrying
these items. A COPY OF YOUR PASSPORT should be placed in your
luggage)
___ Personal Journal (if desired)
___ Pocket translation guide/dictionary
___ Toilet tissue, Puffs/Kleenex, plastic bags
___ Ear Plugs
___ 3-5 days of clothing (comfortable, casual
clothes are best- you may wish to bring scrub shirts to work
in – cotton blends dry more quickly than other types of
fabrics)
___ Good walking shoes
___ Flip Flops
___ Rain gear – boots and poncho
___ Towel, washcloth, 2 bars of soap (one for you,
one for the medical project to distribute)
___ Sheet (lightweight)
___ Insect repellant (30-50% DEET as active
ingredient)
___ Lightweight sweater or jacket
___ Bathing suit, sunscreen
___ Toiletries
___ Small amount of dish or laundry soap (to hand
wash your clothing)
___ Hat
___ Sunglasses
